The Ardèche Speleology Departmental Committee (CDS 07) is the decentralized body of the French Speleology Federation. Founded in 1965, the CDS 07 brings together the Ardèche speleology clubs, which currently numbers around 200 speleologists.
The main aim of CDS 07 is : scientific research, promotion and teaching of speleology, protection and defense of the underground environment and its environment.
It is therefore structured in several commissions (Teaching / Inventory and Publication / Speleology Rescue / Environment) and benefits thanks to the support of the Ardèche Department Council from a position of technical officer.
The CDS 07 has positioned itself as an actor in the management of natural areas and more particularly of the underground environment. With extensive documentation and experience, the CDS 07 has established numerous partnerships. It is now a question for CDS 07 of extending and institutionalizing this network, so that speleology and speleologists are known and recognized as essential actors for the promotion, good management and conservation of the heritage of the underground environment.
